Anna Brown

Anna Brown is a British violinist and versatile musician based in London. As both a baroque and modern violinist, she happily splits her time across many different musical genres.

She has a love of chamber music and has been leader of Quartet Concrète since their formation in 2021. Prizewinners of the St James’ Competition, they have performed across the UK and abroad, collaborating with composers, dancers and singers in venues such as Conway Hall, Opera du Rhin and the Montreux Jazz Festival. As a musician, Anna strives to create meaningful experiences for audiences, and believes that it shouldn’t be a struggle to find a way for classical music to remain relevant to everyone. Driven by this, since graduating, Anna has sought out ways to work with ensembles and individuals who share these beliefs. The music in question can range from an early 17th century trio sonata, to a brand new commission, either way she strives to deliver an authentic and engaging performance of the work. Anna also plays with larger groups such as the Britten Sinfonia and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and was a member of the Glyndebourne Sinfonia’s “Pit Perfect” scheme in 2025.
