An evening of Song and Storytelling at St Neot

7 July 2026

I'm particularly excited about a unique festival event in which I won’t be playing, but which I can’t wait to hear: Stories, Songs and Stones, created especially for Music on the Moor by one of my favourite writers, Philip Marsden, and the beautiful and charismatic folk singer Claire Ingleheart.

Philip Marsden, as many of you will know, writes in an illuminating and personal way about the land and how Cornish mining and seafaring over the centuries have penetrated and influenced the wider world.

Claire Ingleheart champions ancient traditions of Cornish song, and directs Femmes de la Mer, a group of 15 powerful female vocalists. Together they will make St Neot Church resound with sea shanties and songs of the land, creating a magical tapestry of music interwoven with Philip Marsden’s vivid storytelling.

Don't miss Stories, Songs and Stones at St Neot Church at 7.30pm on Thursday 16 th July: you may never hear anything like it again!
